Larry Jones, who has been a member of the Asphalt Angels Car Club of Maryland for over two years, had his named picked this month for "Car of the Month".
When Larry joined the club he owned a 62' Comet and would bring it up for our weekly car meets at Cetrone's. One evening another car pulled in that sparked Larry's interest. It was a 1969 442 Olds and the owner was looking to sell. It didn't take long for Larry to work out the arrangements and soon the car was his.
The 442 came with a 403 small block which he blew out within the first six months. I guess he couldn't help but see what she could do.
Larry replaced the motor with a 350 automatic. Larry uses the 442 for his daily drive and plans to keep this one for awhile. In the near future he would like to fix the body, and paint her. He is also looking for rear bumpers.
Larry is the fourth owner of the car and was surprised to find all the original owner manuals, warranties and original sale papers still in the glove compartment.
We hope this motor last Larry awhile…but he did say he really likes the "Power of the Olds!"
